Veteran of the massage and spa industries joins The
Massage Company as a consultant adviser to its Board of
Directors
Funk, who is the former vice president of product development
for US-based franchise Massage Envy, joins the board of The
Massage Company to help drive the company’s growth in the UK.
She played a key role in the growth and expansion of the
Massage Envy brand from 30 franchised locations to over 1,100.
She also has experience of many jobs within the industry
including executive leadership, massage training school
administration and owning a massage business. Funk is also a
global speaker and teacher.
The Massage Company is a franchise-based venture ““ the first
massage franchise business worldwide outside of the US ““
launched in 2016 by UK Spa Association chair Charlie Thompson
and Elliot Walker, former MD of Murad.
Funk says: ‘I have much respect for The Massage Company’s focus
on combined growth and quality. Launching a business that
creates a new market in the UK is an amazing feat. I’m
impressed with how they have applied effective logic to their
operations and how they are focused on both sales and training
as top priorities. I’m pleased to be joining this team and,
together, we are focusing on a number of projects to facilitate
franchise sales growth in the UK as well as building sound
systems for franchisee training and support.’
