New destination spa planned for the Lake District

Set in the heart of the Lake District, the Falls Spa will
encompass four treatment rooms, a four person rasul and a
thermal suite complete with a laconium, an aroma steam room, a
herbal sauna, a salt steam room, an ice fountain, drench
showers and heated relaxation loungers.

Also inside, there will be a nail bar area and a champagne and
deli bar.

Outside there will be a 10-metre semi-deck level hydro pool and
an infinity edge hot tub with views of the Derwentwater and the
Catbells Mountain range. There will also be a glass-fronted
Finnish sauna and cold drench bucket.

Eighteen new spa bedrooms will offer direct access to the spa
via an internal lift, so guests can make their way around in
the comfort of their bathrobe.

Charles Graves, director of Lake District Hotels, which
operates seven hotels in the Lake District, says: “It’s a
natural progression for the hotel and will ensure that this
iconic property remains synonymous with luxury. We are
approaching the development with new and creative decisions,
while respecting the hotel’s history and its beautiful
surroundings.”

Alongside the new spa, there has recently been a full ground
floor refurbishment of the existing hotel including the bar,
lounges, reception, restaurant, lobby and function room at the
147-year-old property.
